Since 1969, Edwards has built a legacy grounded in core values that continue to shape every aspect of who we are and what we do. Our story began modestly, from a dirt-floor Chicken House in Marshville, North Carolina, to 6 locations across the state, growing steadily through innovation and dedication. In the early 1980s, Edwards established cost-effective, reliable methods for processing raw material, laying the foundation that would allow us to build critical vertical integration capabilities for full control within our value chain. Central to our success is our focus on craftsmanship, investing in cutting-edge equipment, and building a skilled in-house operations team.

Pallet operation founded in Marshville, NC
1977
Relocated to current location at Old Lawyers Road
1988
Edwards Timber Company was founded
1989
Built the first Laurinburg facility as an addition to pallet operations
1990
Edwards Wood Products – Transportation was founded
2000
Liberty Sawmill was purchased as an addition to grade hardwood lumber production
2012
Peachland Sawmill was acquired
2017
Purchased land and building in Laurinburg across the road from our current campus to support pine lumber production
2019
Operational launch of Laurinburg pine sawmill
2022
Edwards invests in CAPE Block Machine to increase efficiency and productivity through high-speed, automated production to meet higher inventory levels and faster delivery
2025
Expanded robotics to support higher-volume, and more precise block pallet production.
2026
Implemented automated lumber grading to boost consistency, speed, and yield across our lumber operations.
